T & J is a B1 General Contractor specializing in Commercial and Residential Construction as well as Stucco Application & moisture related restoration.

  • June 2003 to the present:

 

Serving with the Lien Recovery Fund Board, for the Utah Department of Public Licensing (DOPL). I am now serving my second term until 2011.

  • March 2003 to the present:

 

Serving on the Board of Directors with The Road Home
(formally Travelers Aid Society).  Recipient of the 2006 “Heart and Hands Award” presented by the Utah Philanthropy Association.

  • July 2008

 

                        Appointed to the Utah Chapter of the International Code Council.
                        A voting member on Building Codes and Standards for Utah.

  • Former Board Member and Current Seminar Instructor for the Utah Heritage Foundation.

 

Award from Utah Heritage Foundation’s annual selection of the “Preservation Award” 2004 award for the renovation and restoration of “The Pines” (William and Annie Livingston Home). This home was also placed on the Utah State and National Historical Registry of historic places.
                                         

  • President of the Utah Homebuilders Association, 2002.

Numerous “Chair” organizational positions for this association including functioning as the State’s project manager for the construction of the HBA’s new office complex in West Jordan, UT – 2004

Served as member of the State’s legislative committee with regard to professional standards and continuing education, laws affecting private property rights and interaction with various Utah legislative members.

  • President of Salt Lake Homebuilders Association, 1994.

 

Numerous “Chair” organizational positions for this association including local association’s project manager for construction of the new office complex in West Jordan, UT - 2004

  • 5 time award winning Parade of Homes builders: 1992, 1993, 1995, 1998, and 2002.  

 

  • Acknowledged in various national trade magazines for renovation work with regard to a 2002 historic registered property.

 

Prior to January 1981 I was a journeymen carpenter and a member of the Carpenters and Joiners Union Local #184.
Direct experience in all phases of light and heavy commercial construction, as well as single family and multiple family and residential construction.

 

Personal History

Born in Salina, Utah September 7, 1951 and graduated from Skyline High School in Salt Lake City, 1970.

Happily married for 21 years to a remarkable lady Joan Taylor, a Real Estate Broker with RE/MAX Associates.

We have 4 children and 13 grandchildren.
